Threads

Connect your Threads account to Soku to publish text posts and image posts directly from your dashboard. Soku connects to Threads through Meta’s OAuth flow. Since Threads is part of the Meta ecosystem, authorization goes through Meta’s login system.

Prerequisites

Before connecting Threads to Soku, make sure you have the following:
  • A Threads account (linked to your Instagram account)
  • An Instagram account (Threads requires one)
  • The ability to log in to your Meta/Instagram account via a web browser
Threads accounts are tied to Instagram accounts. You must have an Instagram account to use Threads, but you do not need an Instagram Business Account to connect Threads to Soku.

Connecting Threads

  1. Log in to your Soku dashboard at mysoku.io.
  2. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  3. Find Threads in the list of platforms and click Connect.
  4. You will be redirected to Meta’s authorization page. Log in with the Instagram/Meta account associated with your Threads profile.
  5. Review the permissions Soku is requesting and click Allow.
  6. You will be redirected back to Soku. Your Threads account will now appear under your connected integrations.

Troubleshooting

”Authorization failed” during Meta login

Make sure you are logged in to the correct Meta/Instagram account that is associated with your Threads profile. If you have multiple Instagram accounts, verify you are authorizing the right one.

”Threads account not found”

This error means the Instagram account you authorized does not have a Threads profile. Open the Threads app and create a profile first, then retry the connection in Soku.

Posts fail to publish

Check the following:
  • Your Threads account is active and not restricted.
  • Text posts do not exceed the Threads character limit (500 characters).
  • If including an image, the file meets Threads’ media requirements.

Connection stops working

If you changed your Instagram or Meta password, or revoked Soku’s access from your Meta account settings, the connection will become invalid. Go to Settings > Integrations in Soku and click Reconnect next to Threads.

Threads and Instagram show as separate connections

This is expected. Threads and Instagram are separate platforms with separate API integrations, even though they share the same underlying Meta account. Each one appears as its own integration in Soku and counts separately toward your plan’s account limits.
If you deactivate your Threads profile, Soku will no longer be able to publish to it. Reactivate your Threads profile and then reconnect in Soku if needed.
